WORLD OF SOLEYA
Our Materials & Craftsmanship
Considered materials. Skilled hands. Jewellery made to be treasured.
Behind every piece of jewellery are the materials we choose, the hands that shape it and the meaning it carries.
At Soleya, we bring together recycled gold, carefully selected gemstones and traditional goldsmith craftsmanship. Our jewellery is designed and handcrafted in Copenhagen, where we work closely with our materials and the people involved in making each piece.
The choices behind our jewellery
01 / OUR APPROACH
The choices behind a piece
We believe jewellery should feel personal. It might be a ring worn every day, a gift that marks an important moment or a piece that becomes part of your own style.
When we design, we think about more than how something looks. We consider how it feels to wear, how its shape and proportions work together and how it might become part of someone's life.
These choices guide our approach, from the materials we source to the details we refine at the workbench.
02 / RECYCLED GOLD
Gold, thoughtfully sourced.
All the gold we purchase and use for our jewellery comes from recycled sources. This is an important part of how we choose our materials.
Recycled gold is gold that has been recovered and refined so it can be used again. Gold can be worked and transformed many times while retaining the qualities that make it valuable.
Our commitment concerns the gold we source and use, rather than every component of a finished piece. We believe in being clear about our practices without making promises about environmental impact that we cannot support.
For us, choosing recycled gold is a practical decision that reflects how we want to work with precious materials.
03 / DIAMONDS & GEMSTONES
Chosen with care
Every gemstone brings something different to a design. Its colour, shape and the way it catches the light can give a piece its own character.
We choose our diamond and gemstone suppliers carefully, considering their sourcing practices as well as the quality of the stones they offer. Responsible sourcing is an important part of how we select the people we work with.
We also believe that information should be specific and reliable. Details such as a stone’s origin, grading or certification depend on the individual gemstone and the documentation available.
If you would like to know more about a particular diamond or gemstone, we are always happy to share the information available for the piece you are considering.

04 / THE CRAFT OF MAKING
From an idea to a finished piece
Soleya is both a jewellery brand and a working goldsmith business.
Our jewellery is designed and handcrafted in Copenhagen. Most of the manufacturing work takes place in our own workshop, where we are closely involved in bringing each design to life.
For selected specialist stages, we collaborate with trusted partners who are also based in Copenhagen. This allows us to bring together different skills while keeping the entire manufacturing process local.
For us, making jewellery is about understanding the materials, working carefully with each design and paying attention to the small details that make a finished piece feel right.
05 / THOUGHTFUL PRODUCTION
At the workbench
A design often begins with an idea, a sketch or a particular shape we want to explore. Turning that idea into jewellery means thinking carefully about how it will work in real life.
At the workbench, small details make a difference. The curve of a ring, the way its edges feel against the skin, the balance of a setting or the finish of the gold can all change how a piece looks and feels.
As goldsmiths and designers, we pay attention to these details throughout the making process. We look at proportions, refine surfaces and consider how each element works with the next.
Some decisions are visible immediately. Others are found in the small adjustments made along the way.
A smooth edge, a carefully finished surface or the way light moves across the gold may seem simple, but each contributes to the finished design.
One of the things we value most about working with jewellery is seeing an idea gradually take shape through skilled hands, experience and attention to detail.
06 / LONGEVITY
Made to carry a story
Some pieces become part of our everyday lives. Others remind us of a person, a place or a moment we want to remember.
We hope Soleya jewellery becomes meaningful in this way. Something to wear, enjoy, care for and perhaps one day pass on to someone else.
Fine jewellery deserves care. Precious metals can develop signs of wear, and gemstones may need different types of cleaning depending on their characteristics and settings.
We recommend storing jewellery carefully and asking for guidance before using cleaning products or equipment that may not suit your piece.
With the right attention, jewellery can continue to be worn and treasured as new memories become part of its story.
A CLOSER LOOK
Your questions, answered
Yes. All our jewellery manufacturing takes place in Copenhagen. Most of the work is carried out in our own workshop, with selected specialist stages completed by our Copenhagen-based partners.
This local approach is an important part of who we are as a goldsmith business.
It means that the gold we source and use comes from recycled sources rather than newly mined gold.
Our recycled-gold statement refers specifically to the gold content. Other materials, such as gemstones and components, have their own sourcing considerations.
We typically work with 14-carat recycled gold.
For custom jewellery, 18-carat gold may also be available on request. The gold type and other materials used in a particular piece should be checked in its product details.
If you have a specific preference, we would be happy to discuss the possibilities.
Of course. We understand that choosing a gemstone can involve questions about its characteristics, quality and origin.
We are happy to explain the details available for a particular piece and clarify what information or documentation we can provide.
A comfortable fit is an important part of enjoying a ring.
The right size can depend on the design, the width of the band and how you prefer your jewellery to fit. If you are unsure, contact us before ordering so we can help you find the most suitable size.
Store pieces separately when possible to help prevent scratches, and handle delicate settings and gemstones with care.
Avoid harsh cleaning products and do not use steam or ultrasonic cleaning unless you know it is suitable for the materials in your piece.
If you are unsure, ask us for advice. We are happy to help you understand how to care for your jewellery.
